- An Introduction
Theology As Christians, what we believe about God is the most important and most essential part of our lives. It is the foundation of my perception and perspective, which is shaped by how I think... builds what I believe and, acts upon those beliefs. Correct teaching should produce correct perspective, and correct perspective should help produce correct perception. When we have a wrong or corrupted view of God, it affects everything. Simply put, Theology is the systematic study of God as revealed in Scripture. It involves a disciplined, often academic, approach to understanding spiritual questions, the relationship between God and humanity, and the implications of faith for a person's worldview, ethics, and life. For the Christian, we use biblical texts to understand God's nature, actions, and plan. It involves exploring themes like God's character, covenants, salvation, and the relationship between the Old and New Testaments focusing on the internal teachings and historical context within the Bible, to come to a conclusion about God's messages, expressed by His self-revelation throughout history.
- Purpose in the Blog!
Welcome to The Light House! A small blog designed to support believers or those curious about The Christian Faith and Biblical concepts, enhancing personal study or spiritual journey. Purpose The purpose behind these blogs are to act as a small study share, through brief lessons or concepts to aid the understanding of the Christian believer or those looking to understand certain topics regarding Christianity. Their role is to aid in the intellectual understanding of Biblical or scriptural concepts related to spiritual, natural, and practical issues. Our goal is to deconstruct subjects or broader topics in scripture to clarify any potential misunderstandings allowing them to be accurately understood. They are to help those believing and un or non-believing alike become more knowledgeable about a topic, topics, a subject, or subjects in the Bible. Thus intended to aid the development of a correct Biblical perspective and perception. Again, these are purposed as an AID, which means each individual still has a responsibility to test what is written and examine the information presented against the scriptures. All the work or labor put into these studies do not: #1) Alleviate the reader from their God appointed responsibility to conduct their own study to show themselves approved unto God, a workman who need not be ashamed who can accurately handle or rightly divide the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:16) #2) Form entire pictures. Each study should act as a single puzzle piece to an entire picture, that all connect, overlap, or intersect at some point, but are purposed to aid the readers understanding to eventually and successfully form a completed picture with all the puzzle pieces. Even as someone would preach or teach something that you did not know, never heard before or did not understand, never take anything at face value without doing the research. The complete process of exegesis is not done as every topic and subjects may not be exhausted. Therefore, with what one can glean from the study, use that as fuel to push forward unto an end result in your own pursuit.
